Newsletter January 2026
Dear Beechwood Members,
First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR! Let 2026 be a year of inspiration and creativity in this world in search of calm and peace.
Before getting into the heart of the Newsletter, please, when you attend Wednesday sessions, workshops and demonstrations, either bring your own mug or if you use a cup from the kitchen cupboard. Make sure you wash it, dry it (you can use a tissue or the hand dryer) and place it back where you found it after use. This will save additional work for Hilary when tidying up the kitchen after art sessions. At present she has to stop her painting session early to tidy up the kitchen and make sure the hall is left in good order. She also has to arrive early to set up the hall and kitchen. As we often say, many hands make light work.
As a reminder, Frank Walters is returning to give us a workshop on the 20th of January. The subject will be "Fast and Loose Watercolour Landscape".
Workshops run from 10.30am to 3.30pm. Fees are £28 for members and £40 for non-members.
At the moment the workshop is full but if you want to add your name to the waiting list, please contact Clive Wickenden at clive.wickenden@btinternet.com or ring him on 07734 115329.
On February 11th, Stephen Cheeseman will give us an oil pastels
demonstration. He loves painting people in sport, combining human action and movement. Demonstrations run from 11am to 1pm. No need to book but a fee of £2 for members and of £15 for non-member is payable on the day. https://www.artprofile.co.uk > blog› stephencheeseman.
We now have dates for our forthcoming spring and autumn exhibitions. The spring exhibition will be held at the Chalfont St Peter Community Centre on the 9th and 10th of May, and the autumn exhibition at Amersham Common Village Hall on the 31st of October and 1st of November.
A brief Newsletter this month but please note that the next Newsletter will give you dates and details of our forthcoming AGM. We very much hope you will be able to attend if only to show support for your hardworking Committee without which our club might not be able to survive.
Some of the roles are simple and purely supportive which means that members of the Committee don’t have to accumulate roles.
Kind regards to all,
Cecile (Gallina)
Beechwood Secretary
